Geraldine “Gerry” Lynne Eisbach, 89, of Byron, MN passed away peacefully at the Midwest Senior Care Community in Galena, IL, on August 7, 2026. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.
Born in Denver, CO on June 28, 1937 she was the only daughter of Lynn and Josephine Pierce and grew up with one older brother George. Gerry enjoyed dancing and met her late husband Richard “Dick” Eisbach at a USO dance. Dick and Gerry were married in Chapel #2, Lowry Air Force Base on September 5, 1959 and remained married for 64 years.
Gerry’s happy place, other than her family, was crafting. She loved to make things whether for family, friends or to sell at craft fairs. Her first love was knitting and crocheting. She would teach anyone who showed an interest and she had the patience of a saint. On a rare occasion when a mistake was found, she would rip out a whole project just to fix one stitch. It was important to her that she create something beautiful. Later on in life she learned to weave baskets. In the beginning she took classes but soon branched out creating her own style. Gerry used all sorts of materials in her baskets and made all different sizes. She traveled around southern Minnesota selling her wares at craft fairs, meeting new friends and sharing her love of making something with her own two hands.
Gerry leaves behind her children, Karl (Janet) Eisbach of Lincoln, NE, Cheryl (Jerome) Kalasky of Omaha, NE, Eric Eisbach of Byron, MN; her grandchildren, Matthew Cruzan of Omaha, Erin(Clayton) Yank of Lincoln, Allison Eisbach of Plum City, WI; 1 brother-in-law, 2 sister-in-laws, 6 nieces, 1 nephew and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents Lynn and Josephine, brother George and 2 nieces.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Vandigo and his staff, the nurses at Midwest Medical Center, the staff at Midwest Senior Care Community and Hospice of Dubuque for all their care and compassion.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
