I have known John for over 35 years having met him on a fire scene in Chicago. We have been on numerous fire scenes over the year. Anytime John knew we would be on a scene together he would give me call. After the inspection we always found a place to get a good meal and talk. Sure will miss him. RIP my friend

John was my friend for many years. We met when he first moved to Chicago after finishing his studies at the University of Minnesota. Or common interest in sports car racing and the FV class brought us together and our common love of travel cemented or friendship. We spent many weekends together at the track sharing a paddock space and being friendly competitors. We took many trips together over the years and shared adventures. We shared stories over dinner so many times. I will miss him.

I am deeply sorry to hear of John’s passing. I remember him so well from our adventures as Assistant Scoutmasters on the many Grand Canyon River Rafting exploits and so many other Troop 20 activities. John helped my three sons, Mark, Brian, and Tommy, to the rank of Eagle Scout. I will always remember him as a kind and caring man with such a warm and friendly smile. My love and strength go out to you and your family during this difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
I pray that peace will find you and guide you through this.

Ditto on the Grand Canyon. Was great to know him and we will remember him fondly. Sorry he was called away. A truly generous and giving spirit. I am sorry we couldn’t get closer, even though I went on several music expeditions with him. Good luck John! and good luck Laurie- It was good meeting you as well. Take care, Sam
