Ruth M. Kirchner 89, of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Galena Stauss Senior Care Community. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may call after 9 AM at the chapel until time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born February 12, 1927 in Hanover, Township the daughter of John and Mary Ellen (Gilbert) Kirchner. Ruth worked for Kraft Foods, Galena, Morrison Foundry, Dubuque and Market House State of Illinois until her retirement. She loved her time spent outdoors. Ruth is survived by several nieces and nephews, a special niece, Stella (Keith) Teasdale of Galena. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Katherine, Lillian, Irene, Mae, Anna and Della, six brothers, John, Ernest, George, Adam, Charles and James, and her special friend, Helen Shannon.
