Patricia A. Monahan, 82, of Galena, IL passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may call after 10 AM at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. She was born June 7, 1933 in Galena the daughter of Frances “Nemo” and Catherine (Miller) Meneguin. Pat graduated from Galena High School the class of 1951. She was united in marriage to Eugene Monahan on June 30, 1951 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Galena and he survives. Pat was employed for numerous years by Coldwell Banker, Galena. She greatly enjoyed her family, traveling, auctions and puttering in her garden. She is survived by her husband, Gene, one son, Daniel (Arlene) Monahan of Galena, two daughters, Cynthia (Thomas) Montgomery of Indiana and Diane (Robbie) White of Galena, a son-in-law, Gene Glawe of Elkader, IA, twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Trisha J. Monahan-Glawe, two brothers, Thomas and Robert.
