Oliver “Babe” Kieler, 77 of Kieler, WI passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Luther Manor, Dubuque, IA. At Babe’s request there will be no public visitation or services. Burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born August 9, 1939 in Kieler the son of Oliver and Harriet (Droessler) Kieler. Babe was united in marriage to Donna Haberkorn on October 31, 1961 and she preceded him in death on October 25, 2014. He and his wife Donna owned and worked together in their business “The Kieler Mall” for twenty-five years. He is survived by his two children, Brian Kieler and Vicky (Karl) Ballagh both of Kieler, WI, seven grandchildren, his brother, Allen (Jane) Kieler, a sister in-law, Arlene (Patrick) Dunn, two brothers in-law, Richard “Dick” (Donna) Haberkorn and Albert Haberkorn and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Cary Kieler, a nephew, two brothers, Harold “Hank” and Dale, a sister, Nila Ann Furlong, a brother in-law, Frank Furlong and sister in-law, Pauline Kieler. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Luther Manor for their care and compassion these past several years.
