Max C. Sertle, 57 of Galena, IL died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home. Funeral service will be 7 PM, Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may gather after 5 PM until time of the service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be held at a later date. Max was born September 18, 1960 in Dubuque, IA the son of Max C. Sr. and Corrine (Knautz) Sertle. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Wand on September 4, 2014 and she survives. He is survived by his wife, his mother, Corrine of Galena, seven siblings, Richard Sertle of East Dubuque, IL, Paula (Philip) Soppe, Patty (Bob) Nolan, Dan (Ann) Sertle, Jackie (David) Frank all of Galena, John Sertle of Iowa and JoAnn Woodall of Clearwater, FL, two sisters in-law, Judy Wand of Roscoe, IL and Carol Hansel of Machesney Park, IL and a brother in-law, Jim Wand of Dubuque, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, a niece, Jennifer Nolan and a nephew, Nick Pieper.
