John J. Redington, 93 of Warren, IL passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at his home. In keeping with his wishes, a private family burial will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. John was born March 24, 1925, in Apple River, IL the son of Michael and Mary (Gable) Redington. He was united in marriage to Lillie Heidenreich on March 25, 1944, in Woodbine, IL and she preceded him in death on November 1, 2003. John farmed and worked at Honeywell Micro-Switch, Freeport, IL until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing cards. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his son, Larry (Hilde) Redington of Freeport, his daughter, Diane (James) Wills of Warren, six grandchildren, David (Pam) Wagner, Marilyn (Harold Rials) Wagner, Tina (Joel) Pontnack, Michelle (Kip) Raab, Ryan (Ashley) Wills and Kimberly (Shawn) Saunders, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and three sisters.
