Jean Ann Linenfelser, 82 of Galena, IL passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA. Friends may gather from 11 AM to Noon, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. A committal service will follow the gathering at 12:15 PM in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Galena. Cremation rites have been accorded. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Vinegar Hill, rural Galena, the daughter of George and Margaret (Geltner) Temperly. Jean was united in marriage to Robert Linenfelser on September 7, 1957 and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2004. She loved the outdoors, fishing and mowing her lawn. Jean enjoyed spending time on her I-pad and playing cards with her friends, Rose, Adair, Shirley, Jeanne, Carol and Millie. She always looked forward to spending her Friday’s with her daughter Lisa. Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her two children, Lisa (fiancé’ Chan Kenniker) Linenfelser of Dubuque and Bret (Sue) Linenfelser of Boulder, CO, three grandsons, Andrew, Adam and Benjamin, one brother, Ron “Bomber” (Kay) Temperly of Hanover, IL and her cat, Lily. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Gary and Thomas Temperly. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Vandigo, Dr. Whalen and his staff and the fourth floor at Mercy Medical Center.
