Jacob Richard Stilson, 14 of San Tan Valley, AZ, lost his hard fought battle with Leukemia on Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena. Burial will be held at a later date. Jacob was born in Dubuque, IA on August 9, 2003 son of Shane and Amber (Lyden) Stilson.  Jacob attended Poston Butte High School in San Tan Valley where he was a freshman and just beginning to experience life as a high schooler when he was diagnosed with Hypo Diploid Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  Jacob fought very hard throughout his illness and was very proud of his sister, Madyson for her bone marrow donation.  Jacob will be missed by many but especially by all of his X-Box gamer buddies.  Jacob loved playing games on line with his sister Abby and his friends.  Jacob also loved his jokes and we are sure he will continue to entertain everyone he meets along the way. Jacob is survived by his parents and two sisters, Madyson Paige and Abigail Victoria and his constant companion Scooter.  His Maternal Grandmother, Patty (Lyden) Shillington and His Paternal Grandmother, Vicki Stilson.  His Maternal Great Grandmother, Mildred Welp, Aunts and Uncles, Kevin and Ami (Lyden) Wasmund, Dustin and Traci (Sampson) Lyden, Shawn and Gretta (White) Stilson, Al and Stephanie Stilson. Cousins Chance Lyden, Kiera, Keinan and Kasin Lyden, Ty Stilson and Step cousins Andy Wasmund, Jared Charnas, Maggie, Sophie and Kayla Dougherty. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers John Lyden and Jacob Stilson, His Step-Grandfather John Shillington, His Great Grandparents  Delos Welp, Iola (Toots) and Delmar Busch, Clarence Lyden, Luther and Myrtle Hendrickson, Lee and Carolyn Stilson and a Great Uncle Rick Welp. The family would like to especially like to thank Dr. Naresh Reddivalla and staff at Cardon Children’s Hospital and the entire team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital for their excellent care throughout Jacob’s illness. A memorial fund has been established in Jacob’s memory.
