Gregory C. Winkens, 68 of Galena, IL passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at his home. In keeping with his wishes there will be no public services and burial will be at a later date. A few words about his brother from Tom Winkens. My brother was a character, on the verge of being a scoundrel, and a scamp. He was an intelligent man, at times very funny, poetic and knowledgeable about many things. He could also be very critical of others, while he himself was guilty of the same things. Growing up he was always a step ahead of my sisters and I in the ways of the world. I am sorry to see him gone so young, and sad that he had a terrible illness. I will miss him dearly for the remainder of my life.
