Glenn F. Reedy, 69, of Galena, IL died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. A Celebration of Glenn’s Life will be held at a future date. In keeping with his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born April 1, 1948 in Dayton, OH the son of Luther A. and Betty (Cox) Reedy. Prior to moving to Galena in 2003, Glenn spent thirty plus years in the insurance business in New York and Chicago and was co-owner of Sauter, Ltd. in Evanston, IL in the 1990’s.  He loved nature, animals, a long walk in the woods and Classic Rock & Roll – especially ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones. “Grumpy” Glenn and his locally grown garlic was popular at Farmers’ Markets around the Galena area from 2007 – 2010.  He enjoyed running the local business “Galena Dips & Gifts” with his wife, Judy from 2008 – 2014.  Glenn was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He leaves behind his wife of twenty-nine years, Judy Goldberg-Reedy, his four siblings, Sandee (Don) Peasley, Pamela (Charles) DiPrima, Luther (Cora) Reedy and Jeffrey (Billie Jo) Reedy. He was preceded in death by his parents.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Dubuque or your favorite charity in memory of Glenn.
