Doris L. Sodemann, 92 of Dubuque, IA and formerly Galena, IL passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque. Private family services will be held at a later date in Mt. Emblem cemetery, Elmhurst, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. She was born April 23, 1923 in Stanton St. Bernard, Wiltshire, England the daughter of Francis John and Kate (King) Hailstone. Doris served in the British Auxiliary Air Force from 1942 until 1946, where she met and married Kenneth Sodemann on November 25, 1944 in Woodborough, England and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1991. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lange and a son Philip Sodemann both of Galena, a grandson, Kevin Lange of Bonita Springs, FL, a granddaughter, Victoria Sodemann of Naperville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Margaret Fleetwood and Gwen Smith, son in-law, Horst R. Lange.
