David R. Kriesant, 75 of Galena, IL passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, IA. In keeping with David’s wishes there will be no public services and a private family burial will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family. He was born September 23, 1943 in Evanston IL and grew up in Wilmette, IL. He graduated from New Trier High School.   David proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from September 1963 to September 1969.  He worked many years as the Director of Facilities for the Wilmette Public School District until his retirement where he moved to Galena.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and splitting wood on the property he owned and maintained known as the The Ridge.  He loved his retirement job of driving for Jo Daviess County Transit where his 3 to 4 year old special riders fondly called him “Mr. Dave”.  David is survived by his life partner, Susanne Lighthart, his mother, Margaret Kriesant, his two sons Daniel (Suzanne) and Frank (Kristen), three grandsons, plus many cousins and friends.
