Betty Lou Stark, 84 years old of Galena, IL passed away, Monday, June 20, 2016 at Ennoble Manor Care Center, Dubuque, IA. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena and where friends may call after 9 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Galena. She was born June 7, 1932 in Mendova, WI the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Menglet) Brotzman. Betty at an early age travelled the river with her father eventually settling in Galena. She was united in marriage to Donald Stark on February 11, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church, Galena and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2007. Betty worked for several years at McDonalds in Galena until her retirement. She enjoyed her trips to the casino with her dear friends and playing bingo. Betty will always be remembered for her cooking. Family was very important to her and she cherished their many gatherings. Her greatest joy was a being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Bill) Powers of Dubuque, Donald (Pam) Stark of Galena, Patricia (Fred) McConnell of Alabama, Randy Stark of Dubuque, Sandy (Larry) Ayers of Avon, NY, Paula (Dan) Hilby of Dubuque and Rick (fiancé Beth) Stark of Dodgeville, WI,  nineteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren, a brother, Glenn (Ruth) Brotzman of Galena, two sisters in-law, Ann Brotzman of Galena and Mabel Stark of Platteville, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Lois Johns and Audrey Bennett, two brothers, Lloyd and Marvin, six brothers in-law and five sisters in-law.
