Arlene S. Mauk, 88, of Shullsburg, WI passed away, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Orchard Manor, Lancaster, WI. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Furlong Funeral Home, Shullsburg. Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM, Friday, October, 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Shullsburg. She was born May 28, 1930 in Maquoketa, IA the daughter of Albert M. and Pearl (Clark) Earles. Arlene was united in marriage to Fred “Fritz” Mauk on June 12, 1949 in Maquoketa and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1988. She worked at Micro-Switch in Warren, IL then transferred to Galena, IL where she retired after 22 years in December of 1988. Arlene was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn A. Hocking of Fennimore, WI, and Susie (Daryl) Opie of Necedah, WI, three sons, Fred A. III (Irma) Mauk of Arlington, AZ, James (Deborah) Mauk of Henderson, NV and David Mauk of Woodruff, WI, eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, one sister, Agatha Carr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Nancy Snyder and Barbara Mauk in infancy, a great granddaughter, Joslin Howen and a son in-law, Steven Hocking. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Orchard Manor, the nurses at St. Croix Hospice and Dr. Erin Huebschman for the wonderful care their mother received.
